Note to Consumers

Your responsibility as a consumer:

While the registry makes information more readily available about early care and education trainers in New York State, it remains the responsibility of the "purchaser" of services to ask pertinent questions to ensure that the trainer selected will meet the needs of the organization. A panel of peers in the field will have reviewed the education, experience, and expertise of credential candidates and credentialed trainers. However, only the purchaser is aware of his or her specific training needs and is qualified to make an appropriate decision as to how well the knowledge and expertise of a particular trainer meets those needs. It is important to note that the Trainers’ Credential is voluntary. New York State does not require trainers to be registered or to obtain the credential.
